We called in at the campsite at the end of winter. The weather was only just starting to clear, and the holiday park was pretty quiet.
The owner took us for a walk around the park, pointing out some of their key features - one being that each powered site has it's own private cabin ensuite, including shower and toilet.
Overall, the camp facilities were older style design. They weren't luxurious, but gave the feeling of being comfortable - somewhere to stay and just relax.
Everything looked clean and well organised, and there were grassed areas for parking as well as the all-weather powered sites.
The owners live upstairs above the office and are happy to accept late arrivals.
We weren't planning to stay on this occassion as we were committed to travelling further north to the Kauri Coast, but it is definitely a location that we would be happy to stay at in the future.
Of course, one of the main attractions for visitors is the Sheepworld farm experience, which demonstrates sheep shearing and the use of dogs for moving sheep to different locations.
There is also a large gift shop and a well stocked cafe.
We observed coaches loaded with overseas visitor calling in while we were there, so it is obviously very popular.
