WELLINGTON: SOUTH WAIRARAPA

Pirinoa Country Store is your last stop for either groceries or fuel if you're heading south to Lake Ferry or Cape Palliser.

We stopped as we were driving past on our way to Lake Ferry. A retired couple were sitting out on the front deck having lunch, and we ended up having a long chat about exploring New Zealand. They were from Masterton and come down to Lake Ferry quite often, enjoying both the drive and the environment.

They were pretty enthusiastic about "Dad's Pies" that were available in the store, so we bought one for our own lunch, before heading to see what Lake Ferry had to offer.

Inside the store it was well stocked, including fishing tackle should you need that. You can also post your post cards as it is also the local post office.
