The Wairarapa-A&P-Society is a large reserve, with a lake, and community sports grounds. They have also provided for low cost camping for motor caravanners.
This is a beautiful location, with mature trees, the possibility of parking right alongside the lake ( you'll need to be early, or visit off peak season ), and plenty of room for large vans.
It might be a bit noisy durng weekends when the hockey field is being used, but it was completely quiet when we visited on a sunny afternoon in late autumn.
