Waitaha Bay Reserve

The Waitaha Bay Reserve is a large beach front reserve where self-contained motor caravans can freedom camp about 20 drive from the Cook Strait ferries.
This would be a good location to just chill out by the water in fine weather. The beach is pretty rugged and rocky.
It is only just off the main road and is a bit exposed during Wellingtons famously windy weather.
