The Raurimu Spiral View Point is a small reserve which provides a distant view of the Raurimu Railway Spiral. Self-contained motor caravanners can freedom park on the sealed parking area.
We arrived on a sunny afternoon in late winter, and just stopped to take some pictures. The adjacent reserve overlooked a river, but was otherwise unremarkable.
We were about to leave when we saw a passenger train winding its way around the spiral in the distance. Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera ready for a picture.
