Mount Ruapehu in full snow-covered splendour
On a winter clear day, the Rest Area at the northern entrance to National Park Village offers a stunning view of the 3 snow-capped mountains.
We were on our way to Ohakune and Whanganui in the last few weeks of winter. It was a brilliant clear day and we had to stop and the rest area to take some pictures.
Otherwise, this is a completely unremarkable roadside layover :-)
