Entrance to the Silica Rapids Walk
The walk to the Silica Rapids starts at the carpark up Bruce Rd just past the Chateau and the Whakapapa Holiday Park.
The walk from the carpark goes through to Whakapapa Village and takes around 2 hours - probably better done from the Whakapapa Holiday Park if you're staying there.
However, the scenery on the way up the Bruce Road is dramatic, and its worth stopping for a few minutes at each parking area just to have time to take it in.
