WANGANUI-MANAWATU: MANAWATU

Norsewood Town is a small historic village featuring their local museum, historic buildings and a nice cafe.

We called into Norswewood on a sunny autumn afternoon. It's just off State Highway 2, and we've usually just driven past. We were astonished to find a small town with an interesting pioneering history, that had preserved all of that in their town. It was like stepping back into the past.

We wandered through the museum and historic buildings, had a chat to some of the locals, and had a coffee in the cafe. We didn't have time to look through Johanna's World, but that looked like it would be interesting as well.

So, while we don't normally include towns as locations in this directory, we've made an exception for Norsewood. It is a location in it's own right.
