Desert Rd Rest Area

There is small rest area on the Desert Rd just south of Waiouru where self-contained motor caravanners can park overnight if needed.
It's big enough for a large van and there are rubbish bins and a picnic table available. It's a reasonable location for taking a break from driving, but maybe a bit noisy for parking overnight.
