Entrance to the reserve
Genesis Energy have created an historic reserve near an area when early Maori has settled. There is a large parking area and you can walk to the historic site.
It's a secluded area set well back from the main road and the walk out to the historic reserve was quite interesting for the view over Lake Rotoaira and Motuopuhi Island. Apart from that, and the large shelter, there wasn't much else that we could see.
Genesis Energy don't allow overnight parking.
