Overgrown driveway to the river parking area
The Waipunga River has an access driveway with limited parking that is available for self-contained motor caravanners to park overnight.
We were disappointed with this location as it would not be suitable for anything other than a small van, doesn't provide good access to the river, and it not a particularly attractive location to visit.
It is divided into two separate areas. As you turn off the main road, the drive to your right has more room, but is just a turning circle at the end at the end of the driveway. A large van could park there, but it is not somewhere we would want to stay overnight.
The driveway to the left provides access to the river, but it was too overgrown for us to take our motorhome down.
However, I did walk down to take some pictures. There were a couple of cars parked by the river, and I imaginge it might be a good fishing location. But not at all suitable for a larger van.
