The DOC campsite at Kakaho in Pureora Forest Park is a very large reserve on two levels and split into three camping areas.

There is no mobile phone coverage, and it is a great location to just chill out and escape from everyday living. There are walking tracks to explore, and a river for fresh water.

There is the usual small fee for camping, unless you have a DOC pass.

Plenty flat grass sites to choose from, a peaceful location with a good forest loop track of just under 2 km that climbs up to a view point. Some huge Rimu and, at night, glow worms in the forest.
