The Whakamaru Waterski Club has a small sealed parking area in a beautiful lake front location where self-contained motor caravanners can freedom camp.
It was a clear autumn day when we visited, and the blue sky reflected on the lake was stunning. There is not a lot of room for parking, and the main road goes past, so it might be a bit noisy.
A nice location to take a break, or even to stay overnight.
