The Hauraki District Council in Ngatea has provided a public dump station in the reserve at the back of their main building. Self-contained motor caravanners can also overnight in their carpark.
The reserve at the back has a large adventure play area for children, and modern toilets, as well as the dump station.
The sealed carpark for the reserve looked like it is where overnight parking is allowed, and there was one other motorhome already set up there when we visited. There were no signs to the contrary.
However, I noticed the freedom camping sign near the council building that required parking between the designated signs, and only in the weekends, between 6pm on Friday and 7pm on Sunday.
You should check with the council should you want to stay in the reserve parking area.
