WAIKATO: HAMILTON

We called in to the Dinsdale shopping centre on our way from Auckland to Waitomo. We know someone who works in the shopping centre, and called in to visit, as well as to top up on our grocery supplies. 

Originally, we were planning to continue on to Raglan, but ended up going out to dinner with our friends, which then left us wondering where to park for the night. The shopping centre carpark seemed like a good choice, and we were told that other motorhomes had done that without anyone objecting. We don't know if the shopping centre owners have any policy on this, but we parked overnight without any problem.

As a general rule, it is better to ask first, but we had an alternative should we have been asked to move on. If you decide to do the same, it would be a good idea to ask at Countdown when you are buying your groceries, just to be sure.
