The Wainora Campsite is a quiet, enclosed DOC campground - one of 8 DOC campsites along the Kaereranga river valley.
It was closed for the winter break when we visited in early May, but we were able to walk through the campsite to have a look around.
It's one of the smaller DOC campsites, and the camping areas are not especially level, making this a more suitable location for tenting rather than for motorhomes and caravans.
Like all the DOC campsites, you can pay at the information kiosk, or book ahead at the Kaereranga Visitor Centre.
