Rabbit Island is a very popular reserve with beach front parking and forest walks.
This is the largest reserve in the Tasman Nelson district, and with a great beach. We spent a very enjoyable afternoon exploring the beach and forest walks in early autumn. Unfortunately, freedom camping in self-contained vehicles is not allowed.
The on grass parking areas are a bit lumpy, so finding a level parking area can be a challenge.
