Goldfields Monument is a rest area that provides stunning views over the Clutha river.
If it's a fine day while you're driving along the Cromwell-Clutha road towards Cromwell, it's worth pulling over to enjoy the view.
While you can most likely freedom camp overnight, it's just a small layover, and a bit close to the road. There are much better options like Jacksons Inlet or Champagne Gully.
