Butchers Dam & Flat Top Hill is a DOC conservation area where self-contained motor caravanners can freedom camp overlooking the lake at Butchers Dam.
There is a large grassed area for parking, and good fishing.

Good afternoon. The information about the above site is incorrect. There area shown in this photo is not public land. It is private land and the landholder does not want people camping at the site. Regards Anita Middlemiss, Department of Conservation Central Otago.
