Okopako Lodge is a farm site located near the top of Mountain Road in South Hokianga. There is only parking available for a few motorhomes, but the rural view over the hills is fantastic.
Mountain road is quite steep and winding, but we didn't have any difficulty driving up in our 8 metre long motorhome.
All weather parking is available next to the facilities, which are basic but quite comforatable.
The standout feature is the view out over the Hokianga countryside.
It was a nice sunny afternoon on the day we arrived, and Nils, the owner, made us feel very welcome, even though we weren't able to stay.
