One of the town centre car parks in Picton specifically provides for campervan parking while shopping or eating out in town.
This a metered parking area which would be useful if you need to spend some time in town. However, we think it's very short-sighted of the local council in not making it available for overnight parking as well.
Picton is the last stop before catching one of the two ferry services back across the Cook Strait to Wellington.
There are campsites nearby, but this carpark would be a really convenient location for the self-contained motor caravanners to stop in town for a meal, and remain overnight before boarding the ferry in the morning.
