The reserve at Mohaka Gorge has a parking area with some picnic tables set up and a view over the river.
While the parking are is well off the road, it is still quite close to the bridge. It would be a good location to stop for a break, and parking overnight in a self-contained van should be ok.
The railway bridge in the distance is a unique feature for the gorge. At 95 metres above the Mohaka river, it is the highest rail viaduct in Australasia.
