HAWKES BAY: NAPIER

Westshore Reserve is a large reserve along the beach front with a surf lifesaving club at the south end.

It is well used by local people in the weekends and also just going for walks along the beach on a nice day. There is a well maintained public toilet and also a large childrens playground.

You can watch the large cruise ships coming into the harbour, and there were a stunning sunrise while we were there - you have to be up early though!.

I've listed it as a place where self-contained motor caravanners can park overnight, but there is no sign allowing or forbidding it. 

We have stayed overnight on a few occoassions, but it may be worth checking with the Napier city council if you want to be sure.
