Kairakau Beach Campsite is right at the entrance to Kairakau Beach where the Mangakuri river flows into the sea.

It's in a good location, with powered sites along the river and beachfront. There is a large playground for children, and new toilets.

This a good option if you need power, or to catch up with your washing. Likewise, if you're travelling with children, the playground would be an attraction.

Most of the sites are taken with long term campers, but the are still some powered sites available along the river area.

The prominent sign posted on the main building is a bit misleading - possibly intentionally. Camping is not allowed further down the beach, but is allowed for self-contained motorhomes.

Hello Mcgrillo. The campground is not dog friendly. But the baches are. Yes site hire submissions come out in September, but you can also turn up and see the custodian. Sorry no car sleeping. Hope this helps

Hi Is this campsite dog friendly, and can you hire a site and sleep in your car? Thanks
