Kairakau Beach has designated areas for overnight parking in self-contained vans towards the end of Kairakau Beach Rd.

The long stretch of sand beach, with dramatic rocky hills in the background, and on-grass parking makes this is a prime beach location. We stayed overnigtht mid-week in early November and we had the entrie beach to ourselves. I imagine it would get more busy in the weekends over summer,

There is one small public toilet half-way down the beach, but no other facilities.

If you're self-contained, you can ignore the prominent "No Camping" sign posted on the campsite building at the entrance to the bay.

This is an excellent beach location. The only negative for us was the lack of mobile phone coverage - not always a disadvantage...

Yep, this is a great spot. One public toilet near the entry. Ground would get a bit boggy with heavy rain but... Beautiful cliffs behind you and expansive ocean in front and yes, no cell coverage.
