Pukehina Reserve is a small reserve with direct access to the beach and includes a public toilet and rubbish collection.
This would be a stunning location, in a quiet rural area well away from all the usual tourist activity, especially if you love trains. The rail line runs past and, like the Otamarakau campsite, the trains run frequently, and spoil an otherwise tranquil environment.
It's a significant plus to have the long drop toilet, and also the council provides a rubbish bin.
There is good access to the beach down a steep sand dune, which may well provide good fishing as well as walks and sunbathing.
You're limited to 3 nights overnight parking in a 4 week period. Of course you must be certified self contained.
