Sulphur Point is a large parking area for the Tauranga yacht club and provides overnight parking for self-contained motor caravanners.

It was a miserable grey morning when we called in to check it out. While the parking is huge, there is only limited spaces for freedom camping at the far end, directly overlooking the harbour.

It's a nice location, and there is also a Burnso should you need to do any repairs or buy campervan supplies. There's also a nice cafe.

There are also public toilets, but these are at the main entrance, making it a long walk from where you're allowed to park.

There was an enthusiastic kite surfer taking advantage of the windy weather while we were there.
