Motor caravanners are spoilt for choice in Waihi Beach!
The long stretch of ocean beach extends into a peninsula with Bowentown and Athenree at the far end. Along the beach there are 4 very good holiday parks, 6 free parking areas, and a public dump station.
There are also excellent restaurants, good shopping, a weekend farmers market, and hot mineral pools to enjoy.
Brighton Reserve is at the northern end of Waihi Beach, located just between two holiday parks. It is off the main road, directly overlooking the beach, has a barbeque area, children's playground, and clean toilets . While not a large parking area, it is still an excellent choice if there is space available.
As wtih the Bowentown Beach Holiday Park and Anzac Bay, you could also alternate with free parking and staying at either the Waihi Beach Top 10, or the Beachaven Kiwi Holiday Park, allowing you to top up with power, fresh water, deal to the waste, and enjoy a nice shower.
Holiday Parks and free camping areas provide for completely different experiences. It's nice to be able to enjoy both. And Waihi Beach does it like no other place that we have seen. Enjoy!
By the way, the Waihi Beach RSA is just around the corner, and they also provide overnight parking, and a quality low cost meal if you are a member of the NZMCA.
