Native wood pidgeon posing briefly for usWe decided to explore Duder Regional Park on a sunny day one weekend. This park makes for an excellent 'exercise break' with a mix of medium to strenuous walks across farmland and beaches.

For overseas visitors, this is a chance to walk past sheep and cattle grazing, and also to see birds like our native wood pidgeon.

One of the walks takes you to the site of a Maori pa with magnicient views across the Hauraki Gulf.

There are public toilets provided, and you can get refreshments at the Clevedon town centre, a little further along the main road.

There is also a camp site, associated with the park, but it wasn't well sign posted and we didn't notice it while we were there. We might checke that out on a future trip.
