Army Bay is a stunning location overlooking the bay. There is plenty of parking space, clean toilets, and steps and a driveway down to the beach.

For a weekday in late autumn, it was still being well used. We parked and had a good look around, taking some pictures and chatting to another couple in a motorhome, parked on the other side of the toilet facility.

We both agreed that it would make a great place to park overnight, but there was no information posted by the Auckland Council as to whether that was allowed.

This is definitely something to check out as it would have been a more attractive location to park overnight than the Gulf Harbour car park, where we had parked the night before.
